CDM UK offers hand processed textile manufacturing technique training - using hand sewing, needle and machine knitting, embroidery, crocheting, weaving, dyeing, screen printing, block printing, tie dye. We use textiles as a tool to engage vulnerable/disadvantaged women into creative/interactive workshops to help them deal with various personal issues - from deprivation to domestic, drug and sexual abuse; depression, isolation, loneliness and self-harm; physical, mental and learning disability; mental, emotional and psychological health needs. The workshops offer safe, relaxed and supportive environment to help boost people?s confidence and morale, while providing training and support on manufacturing quality textile products, using natural materials. These skills could then become basis for self-employment, employment, further education or training. We promote healthier lifestyle, encouraging people to eat fresh fruit, vegetables, herbs and less meat, avoiding processed, frozen, pre-prepared food. We promote recycling, up cycling and green living, encouraging people to live a waste free life.
